This Privacy Policy explains how LaxIT ("LaxIT", "we", "us", "our"), based in Surat, Gujarat, India, collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use our website, courses, subscriptions, live classes, and the CodeXpress coding IDE (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you consent to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide: name, email address, phone number, password, billing name, city/state (for location-based fields), messages you send via our contact form, and any code, comments, or notes you submit while using course modules or CodeXpress.

Payment information: when you make a purchase, our payment gateway partner, CCAvenue, collects and processes your card, UPI, or net-banking details directly. LaxIT does not receive or store your full payment card/UPI credentials on its own servers - we only receive confirmation of payment status, order ID, and transaction reference details.

Automatically collected information: log data, device/browser type, IP address, pages visited, and general usage patterns, collected through standard server logs and cookies/local storage used to keep you signed in and remember preferences.

Verification data: a one-time password (OTP) sent to your email/phone during registration, used only to verify account ownership.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account, and verify your identity during registration.
• To process payments, activate the courses/combos/subscriptions you purchase, and send order confirmations and bills.
• To deliver course content, live class access, notifications, certificates, and support responses.
• To operate CodeXpress, including sending the code you submit to a third-party code-execution sandbox and an AI model provider solely to run it and generate feedback for you.
• To send service-related communications (billing, class schedules, account notifications) and, where relevant, updates about new courses or offers.
• To maintain platform security, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms and Conditions.
• To improve the Service based on aggregated usage patterns.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

• CCAvenue - to process payments for courses, combos, and subscriptions.
• Code-execution and AI service providers - to run code and generate AI feedback within CodeXpress. Code you submit there may be processed on servers operated by these providers, including outside India.
• Video-conferencing provider - to host and deliver live classes.
• Email/SMTP delivery provider - to send account, OTP, billing, and notification emails.
• Tutors - assigned tutors can see relevant enrollment, progress, and communication data needed to teach and support you.
• Legal requirements - if required to comply with applicable law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of LaxIT, our users, or others.

These third parties process data under their own privacy policies and only to the extent necessary to provide their service to us.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

We use session cookies to keep you logged in and remember basic preferences (such as menu state). We do not use third-party advertising trackers. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect your ability to stay logged in.

5. Data Retention

We retain account and transaction information for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with legal, accounting, and tax obligations (including records required for payment reconciliation). Code submitted to CodeXpress is retained only as long as necessary to provide the run/feedback feature, subject to the retention practices of the underlying execution/AI providers.

6. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures - including password hashing, OTP-based verification, and access controls - to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law (including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, or withdraw consent for non-essential processing, by contacting us at admin@lax-it.in. We will respond within a reasonable time, noting that some information (e.g. transaction records) may need to be retained for legal/accounting purposes even after a deletion request.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for students generally 13 years of age or older. Where a user is a minor, registration and purchases should be made with the involvement/consent of a parent or guardian.

9. International Data Transfer

Some third-party providers we use for code execution, AI feedback, or infrastructure may process data on servers located outside India. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer, which is made solely to provide the relevant feature.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
